personal / private
with the second idea of my project on public private, im struggling with idea of doing something private and making it public, i decided the most private thing i could do would be to film myself crying, i decided this after i first filmed myself sleeping, but i am struggling to make myself cry and dont really want to force it in anyway, as this would probably come across on the film, i think i will wait until the time is right to make the film on myself crying, as it is a pretty private thing to do.
public/private my clothes
after changing my clothes , i took them to a shop i got them from in the first place and returned then , leaving them there for the public to interact with, i have still to go back to see if they are still there or if they have been removed it will be interesting to see.
i took photographs to document they process, the art work itself is the process of returning my private possessions and making them public again .
michael landy (breakdown)
michael landy conceptual artist, gave me the idea of giving my clothes back to the public ,by changing them in some way and replacing them back in to the shops,
he took all his personal belongings and destroyed them and recycled them, very thing he owned even precious photographs, he made sure everything went to a land fill because he didn’t want, in years from now like his shredded passport turning up in a gallery somewhere.the art work became the process of destroying, i don’t want to destroy them i still wanted them to exist, i don’t mind someone else owning then , there is every chance that someone will just throw them in the bin, then the process of putting them in the shops would become the art work(s), destroying his belonging i think he felt liberated. i would probably feel a sense of loss,

continuing with the clothes theme, i decided to try my clothes with new tags and labels but with no writing on them . maybe only the size,
I think the idea of having nothing on the clothes, not knowing where they come from or what it is about would engage the none art public more, the first one i did i wrote” free art” on the label, also on the back i wrote (this was mine now its yours)i think this is leading the none art public in to an opinion , i think leaving them blank they will form there own opinion , on what it is all about

an artist called micheal landy gave the idea on where to take my project on my clothes , his work titled breakdown was all about his private possessions, anything that he owned in the world, being broken up and recycled, from his sab car to his family photographys, from his passport to his birth certificates.
I have been wondering what i can do with my clothes , i took them to a public place and photographed them but i don’t think it was quite the effect i was after as is wasn’t interacting with the none art public, his work gave me the idea to getting rid of the clothes i have , but instead of destroying them i have decided to slightly alter then, and replace then in the shops i bought them from and leaving them there.
the reaction of the non art public would be quite interesting to see

after filming myself sleep for the first time , i realised i was still keeping things private by wearing bed clothes normally i sleep with none on, so i decided to film myself again with none on this time, putting it on here makes me feel very vunerable and exposing my privacy for everyone to see.

this project has taken me on two different courses, the private possessions and the private self, as in me and my private emotions, one of the most private things i do in my room is sleep , so i decided to film myself sleeping to get the reaction of the public, although i don’t know how the none public can view it or where since its not to be in a gallery watch this space for the video.

my washing, in my room there is always a pill off washing , whether its on the floor or on my bed , or anywhere else in my room, is it never put away, which if see people will automatically assume i’m messy , which i am. since no one see my room, i have decided i am going to take my washing and make it public by leaving it in a public place so gage the publics reaction to it sitting some where that you do not normally see itg i think the images work well and get my initial idea across i think the is alot of scope for more ideas .
